Shibori is a collective name for a variety of patterning techniques originating in and meaning “to twist, squeeze, and press” in Japanese and includes a variety of ways of manipulating fabric to create patterns.

The patterning techniques have traditionally often been used in combination with indigo but can be combined with all pigments from the plant kingdom. Now you have the opportunity to try some of these patterning techniques and learn the basics of how to use nature's pigments to dye in textiles. The course is suitable for beginners, bring pen/paper and work clothes.

Cost: 1050 kr (950 kr for Vandalorums Friends). Materials for workshop, lunch and afternoon coffee are included. Please indicate any allergies or special dietary requirements when registering.

Linda Zetterman is an active artist and designer with a primary focus on sustainable production methods for textiles. In her practice, she explores the relationship between materiality and color through plant pigments that she both grows, extracts and dyes with. Since 2020, she runs the project From seed to color at Capellagården, Öland. Linda holds workshops in indigo and natural dyeing both in Sweden and internationally.
